November 2011:  Delaware State Police Homicide Conference, Medico-Legal Death Investigation/ Basic Techniques in Forensic Pathology. Presentation on ethnographic research techniques and information-gathering strategies in interviewing incarcerated serial killers.

May 2010:  Presented multi-media analysis on legal issues involved in the investigation and prosecution of serial killer Kendal Francois to the Connecticut Paralegals Association.

February 2010:  Presented research findings on archival study and led discussion with an interactive powerpoint presentation at the Annual Conference of the Association of Criminal Justice Sciences in San Diego, California:  “The role of Stockholm Syndrome in sexual captivity cases” 

March 2009:  Presented article on criminal justice pedagogy at roundtable discussion with an interactive powerpoint presentation at the Annual Conference of the Association of Criminal Justice Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts entitled “Touring the Global Village:  Using video to teach comparative systems of criminal justice and international human rights.” 

May 2008:  10th Annual Child Abuse Prevention Conference sponsored by Danbury Hospital Department of Pediatrics; May 23rd 2008:  served as   featured program presenter, researching,  composing, and presenting  a 1.5 hour metanalysis  presentation entitled  “Behind the Woodshed: The Balance of Cultural, Societal, and Circumstantial Variables in Determining Appropriate Discipline for Children.”

July 2007:  Exploration Keynote Speaker at Yale University:  “The role of Forensic Science in Solving High-Profile Homicide Cases”  

May 2007:  Danbury Hospital conference on Child Abuse:  “The Legacy of Divorce:  Emotional, Psychological, and Verbal Abuse of Children in Divorcing Families”

November 2006:  American Society of Criminology, Toronto Canada:  “Hybrid Killers:  Complexities in Multicide Typologies”

July 2006:  Exploration Program at Yale University:  “Don’t Believe the Hype:  the role of Media in promoting the CSI Effect”

May 2006:  Danbury Hospital Conference on Child Abuse:  “ Forensic Science v. Forensic Psychology:  Difficulties of Prosecuting Child Sex Abuse Cases “

July 2005:  Exploration Program at Yale University:  “The Role of Forensics in the Prosecution of Serial Killer Kendall Francois”

June 2004:  7th Biennial Conference on Crime, Justice, and Public Order in Bucharest, Romania.  Presented “The Dark Side:  A Case Study of Serial Killer Kendall Francois” (see below) to international audience.

October 2002:  Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists,  Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Presented “The Dark Side:  A Case Study of Serial Killer Kendall Francois” in which a power-point designed lecture illustrated the link between forensic evidence at the crime scene and the psychology of the killer who stored the bodies of his eight victims in the house where he lived with his parents and sister.

June 2002:  6th Biennial Conference on Crime, Justice and Public Order in London, England.  Presented “SHOT II:  Serial Homicide Offender Tracking”, reporting on updates to the 1999 SHOT  database, which is now used not only for research studies but also serves as a tool for law enforcement solving cold cases.

November 2000:  Annual Conference of the American Society of Criminology (ASC);  San Francisco, California.  “Analysis of Public Information Data on Homicide Victimology Correlated With Serial Killer Typologies”  (a geographic  profile for unsolved missing persons and bodies found).

June 2000:  5th Biennial Conference of Crime, Justice, and Public Order in Bologna, Italy.  Presented full quantitative results and policy implications on the ABC- 20/20 geographic profiling study to an international audience of 400 law enforcement officials.
 
November 1999:  Annual Conference of the American Society of Criminology (ASC);  Toronto, Canada.  Presented paper on “Hybrid Killers:  A Sign of the Times” proposing new theoretical constructs for profiling modern multicide.

March 1999:  Annual Conference of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS); Orlando, Flordia.  Presented paper on “The Limbus:  the Professional Lives of Lesbian Police Officers”

June 1998:  International Perspectives on Crime, Justice & Public Order (hosted by John Jay College, FBI, and Hungarian National Police);  Budapest, Hungary.  Presented paper on the status of female  police officers in the NYPD, the largest police force in the world. 

June 1998:  World Association for Case Study Research, Marseille, France.  Gave half-hour workshop on utilizing video as case study for policy analysis and teaching crime theory.

October 1997:  Connecticut Consortium for Enhancing Learning and Teaching (CCELT) "Education in the 90s:  Risky Business".  Workshop on integrating commercially-released video into any college curriculum.
